This is a social service directory for King County, with links
to other counties in Washington state. Because
printed listings expire quickly, we use this online directory almost
exclusively for information and referral.

(NA) web site for the Seattle area. The site provides detailed information
about NA meeting times and locations.

This is the Alcoholics Anonymous
(AA) web site for the Seattle area. The site provides detailed information

Yahoo Maps is a site commonly used for finding your way around any city in the United States. We use it for field work when we need to find family homes, social service agencies and other locations in Snohomish, King, and Pierce counties.

This is Washington State Department of Licensing web site. Because the first step to stability for most youth is getting state identification, we use this site to find office locations, hours and policies. We have found that outlying offices are less crowded and more flexible than central offices.

This web site is the National Clearinghouse on Alcohol and Drug
Information, provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration. The site contains research and articles about current
drug trends. You can also call 1-800-729-6686 to order free printed
information.

Northwest Medical Teams sends
a dental van to our drop-in center approximately once a month to
provide free medical care to the youth we serve. The van, which
has come nine times in the past year and a half (June 2000 to January
2002), serves an average of eight youth per day. Their services
include consultation, checkups, fillings, extractions, and referrals
to specialists for other dental health needs.

Youth Advocate Program International
(YAPI) is a nonprofit, education and advocacy organization based
in Washington, DC. YAPI promotes the rights and well-being of youth
on a global basis, giving particular attention to the plight of
troubled youth victimized by sate and personal violence, as well
as armed conflict.

This web site hosts the results
of a two-year study into the "Commercial Sexual Exploitation
of Children in the U.S., Canada and Mexico." The Principal
Investigator on the project is Richard J. Estes, Ph.D., Professor
& Chair, with a concentration in Social and Economic Development
(University of Pennsylvania, School of Social Work).
