Current topic: Why do people keep using drugs if they know what the risks are?

Previous Topic: What keeps people on the Streets and what can we do to help?

If I knew an answer I wouldn't be homeless and lie about my homelessness.

Drug addition, alcohol.

Unsupportive housing programs (for instance many wont let me in due to not enough sobriety time so I'm forced to live on the streets even longer which makes me wanna use even more.

Stereotyping, assuming.

Criminal records/history, fines too high to pay.

Not enough rental history to get into low income housing and to access housing resources.

Sexuality, gender identity, identity in general.

Restricted health care, ie recieve in-patient or outpatient treatment.

Employment experience or lack there of.

Greed, commercialism or big companies taking over the world destroying privately owned businesses.

Lack of education or funding for education, too many personal issues to go to school and function well. For example learning disabilities, self esteem, fear of success. Also if employed not enough time to go to school in a day and/or employment pays either too little or not enough hours, advancement etc. So your stuck working full time at crappy wages forever just to support yourself but can't goto school as well.

Badkground like how one was raised ie social tactfulness.

Diveresity or lack there of.

"White priority", "Male priority".

Racism and discrimination.

Society does not receive ex-convicts or ex drug addicts well.
